A wildlife photography enthusiast, i started my journey at a very early age when I visited the Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan.
Traveling to various destinations since i was young with some of them being “wildlife destinations”, I was always fond of nature and wild animals. The other part being that i always had/wanted to have the camera in my hand.
The mesmerizing sight of the majestic tiger left me spell bound and i wanted to carry that image back home along with memories. I learned basic photography at school as part of an extra-curricular activity which helped me get the basics of photography.
During one such trip to Ranthambore, i was lucky to stumble upon the one and only Sudhir Shivaram, one of the leading wildlife photographers of the world.
Sudhir Shivaram sir was gracious enough to accept me under his wings for a one on one training program in Ranthambore giving me an incredible insight into the world of wildlife photography.
Since then the search of tigers and beyond has taken me on numerous trips to Ranthambore, Jawai, Jhalana, Little Rann of Kutch, Bandavgarh, Bharatpur and Sultanpur. The search has gone way beyond tigers into looking for leopards, sloth bears, hyenas, birds, wild asses and much more. Not to forget the mesmerizing peacocks, langurs and species of antelopes.
Encouragement and reconciliation from some of the best names in the field helped me keep improving. From finishing runners up in the Wildlife SOS contest in UK and being selected multiple times in the monthly INW Awards to being featured multiple number of times by Canon India, Sony BBC Earth and other social media handles like IndianWildography etc. it’s being a beautiful journey so far.
Photography is a game of patience. My wish list about the types of images i would like to make is never ending and so is the case with any wildlife photographer, but it is the feeling of being in nature that should keep one going !
I have always been a Canon user and I love it ! I upgraded to their mirrorless system back in 2021 but I still use the adapted EF lenses. Here is a list :
1. Canon EOS R6
2. Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS USM II
3. Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5
4. Camo Coat
However, recently I have started renting out lenses like the 400mm f/2.8 and the 600mm f/4 for some of my trips
I also use some accessories like :
1. A bean bag
2. Camoline Panning Plate
3. Leofoto LS-365C
4. Leofoto BV-5 Fluid Head
